Roddy Skeaping combines multi-instrumental improvising skills with therapeutic mindset and goals developed over years as a trained music therapist. He is focused on creating a new dynamic between artists and audiences and developing the more sophisticated use of the transcultural elements in music to further enrich free improvisation. Musical director for groups including the City Waites and The Burning Bush, Roddy was also a founder member of the ‘Campiello Band’ later renamed the Michael Nyman Band. Compositions include music for the film The Pianist, many plays for the Royal National Theatre (also as music director and onstage performer) and his many compositions and arrangements have been performed worldwide. London performances include Morphic Fields – Albert Hall and The Vanish’d Shtetl (BBC Concert Orchestra Radio 3 commission) – Festival Hall, South Bank.
