I was born and grew up in Crete, Greece, where I took my first piano lessons. Trained as a classical pianist, my relationship with music changed completely while training as a music therapist. During the training I was introduced to the idea of free improvisation and was absolutely fascinated by it. Since then I have been improvising music both in music therapy settings, with clients of all ages and abilities and, in performance, with other professional improvisers.
I am excited by the potential for communication, expression and artistic creation that is generated once people feel safe to explore freely. I am currently working as full time music therapist and I’m particularly interested in collaboration between different artistic media, both in therapy and performance.
